An Alternate Way to Watch My LPs

So around a month ago, I suspended my Let's Play channel on YouTube indefinitely. The reasons for this have been discussed elsewhere (including a video on my channel), so I will not be recapping them.

An alternative I've been investigating for a bit, ever since I first started planning to shut down my LP channel, is to distribute videos via torrent. While torrents do have a particular reputation for the ease of using them to illegally distribute files, torrents are not themselves illegal. They are merely a method for sharing files.

I cannot guarantee that the torrents will have availability at all times - I don't particularly want to keep my desktop turned on 24/7. I will keep them available when I can, and eventually I want to build a NAS (a computer dedicated entirely to providing mass storage for all computers within a home) which I will be able to leave up 24/7 and thus provide permanent availability.

I also understand that torrents are not an ideal method for sharing these video files. I don't have a particularly large number of viewers, it's a technical hurdle people need to overcome to access them, viewers will almost certainly need to delete the video files after and not help seed due to the size of them, etc. I do not intend for this to be the permanent, primary method of watching my videos. I intend for this to be a secondary source.

Hopefully some day the issues with YouTube will be resolved and I can return to uploading there. Alternatively, I hope to find a good alternative source to YouTube some day. I would love to figure out how to set up a PeerTube instance as one possibility.

As for the Patreon - I am returning to making videos with distribution occurring via torrents so I will also be resuming the Patreon. Video releases will be at a far slower pace for my own health. Torrents are a technical hurdle. If anyone wishes to suspend their Patreon subscription as a result of these, I completely understand.

Torrent releases on Patreon will be on a weekly basis. That is to say, when I have what would've been a week's worth of videos for a series complete, I will release a torrent for that batch of videos for Early Access subscribers. That torrent will then be released publicly 4 weeks later.

Torrent releases on my blog will occur when a whole "batch" of videos is done. Batches are defined largely by the game. For example, Chained Echoes is a game with four acts. Thus, each act will be one batch. I believe there will be an extra batch for Ashes of Elrant, and possibly an additional batch if I move any content in the base game to post-game.
