Vacation Time
I am on vacation from work at the moment and it is nice. Last vacation was in February when I was hanging out with my partner who came to visit. That was also a very nice vacation but in a very different way - I was actively spending time with my partner. This vacation I am by myself and just relaxing, doing whatever, letting my social batteries recharge. The first day I was exhausted basically the entire day? I think my brain and body were realizing “oh we have nothing to worry about for the next week, we can just let all the stress out and reeeest.”
But like actually it is so so nice to be on vacation. I get to do whatever! I am admittedly just… doing what I normally do on my days off. But also we’re barely on day 4 of vacation now.
A lot of my time is being spent getting caught up/ahead on my FFXIV fishing goals. 5/6 Heavensward Legendary fish caught, just the Sea Butterfly and two big fish left. I hate the Sea Butterfly so much. It’s awful. I’ll get it soon though.
Also set up my character for my second ever D&D campaign which is exciting, and spent an unreasonable amount of time figuring out the distance from the origin to an offset circle for weird game math reasons. The solution ended up being very well approximated by a much faster linear interpolation which also has better properties… but the math was fun to do! I miss doing math for fun. I should do that more.
Also started work on the Let’s Play that comes after Chained Echoes. This is going to be a massive project. Thankfully from the start I am planning to split it up with other Let’s Plays in between sections. It’s going to be a strange way to do it, but it also makes a lot of sense given how the game is structured. And to make it more fun I have 4+ people helping me with the project. It’s the most editing I have ever done for a Let’s Play and I am enjoying every bit of it. I am… also creating original scenes that don’t technically exist in-game for portions of it? I swear it will make sense, the original scenes don’t come out of nowhere, they are directly derived from… something about the game. I’m just bringing that into the game itself. I swear, I promise it will make sense. I’m just hoping people end up enjoying it. I know I’m enjoying making it.
