Welcome to 2026!
Woah! It's a new year! How exciting!
Last year was a very interesting one for me. I finally got a full time job. It's not the best, I like the work but the pay is insufficient for my bills. I can make it on what I'm making, but I really need to look into something better paying at some point. It's been implied to me by my bosses that I should apply for a higher position within the company, which miiiight be something I look into?
I also went on my YouTube boycott (at least as an uploader) which means my Let's Plays are somewhat in limbo at the moment. I'm uploading them via torrents, some of which are available here on the blog (check the top right!) and I am adding more when I can. New videos are being released via torrent on Patreon, with the posts set to early access so once 4 weeks have passed they will become available to everyone. Keep an eye on the Patreon for the newest videos! At some point I am hoping to get the blog caught up as well, but it'll be slow going.
Ideally I could set up a PeerTube instance, but I honestly am not sure how to go about doing that. I don't believe it would be possible with my current web host, it may have to be on a device I own. That said, I would want to set up a NAS to run 24/7 and use that as the server. So that... likely will not happen for quite a while.
Finally, I began actually working on my game! I've been working on it without giving up for six months! That's big for me! Shame it's taking so long to make between all my hobbies and my job, but it actually exists and is making progress!
Now what's coming up for this year?
I like to set a "theme" each year. Not a New Year's Resolution, but similar. A general theme of what I want to work on in a given year. For 2026, I think that's going to be somewhere between self-control/discipline and balance. I need to not overwork myself so severely. I need to not give in to impulses to do big video game grinds. I need to play more than just my small selection of hyperfixations. And I need to make a bit more time to work on my game and develop new skills! And most of this relies on me having a bit more self-control over what I actually choose to spend my time on.
Hope you all have a wonderful year! Here's to hoping good things start happening far more frequently than they have recently. I'll try to get a monthly update for the LPs out soon. Maybe tomorrow or sunday?
